Home 3D Art Showcase & Critiques

New to poly-count, looking for feedback on my 3d characters.

Hello everyone! I am a student artist looking to improve my work.

I've been interested in character modeling for quite some time now and I am looking forward to hear everyone critics on my work.

I am also want to know if my current models can be considered low poly because I am planning to sell some of the at turbo-squid ( Yes, even though I am a student I own the commercial version of maya 2013 lucky me :D.) and hopefully earn enough to afford Mudbox and photoshop.

So tell me what you guys think of the few examples I have attack below.

This would be better in pimping and previews.

Looks really good so far, nothing to complain about the topology.

    Also to post embedded images,

Thanks, I been doing my best to keep almost all the areas in the male and female bodies as quads.

Here is a closer look on how I lay out the topology for a head. Please tell me if I am doing something wrong or if it's ok for animation purposes.

Doesn't that code require the image to be uploaded somewhere else instead of attaching it directly to a post?

    Looks great!
I was going to say with all the wire frames going on we can't make out the faces/heads. You've beaten me to the punch, :) render them images a big as you can don't be shy, muhaha! :)

You got a lot going on, you working on all of those at once?

Yeah, you can typically upload it to a site like http://www.imgur.com or something, makes it a bit easier to immediately see the image, but its not a big deal.

Yes, I have 9 that I am currently working on right now which I am planing on selling on turbo-squid so I can buy mudbox and photoshop later down the road.

Which is the reason why I uploaded a few examples here to find out if they were good enough or not and to get feedback on how to improve them.

I'm not a pro at characters myself, but from what I can see maybe you should look into some more anatomy and use them as references. So far though the topology is looking good, and with the close ups post more angles of the face/ head so people can judge your work better.

Hopefully this is helpful and you get much more help fromthis site ;p

I will, I just need to get the rest of my other models to the point were I can show them all together and then get feedback on what I need to improve.
